As many of you I am sure are aware, Ben Spies in his rookie year took the World Superbike crown for 2009. I believe that is Yamaha’s first WSBK Championship. One of my favorite races this season was the last lap of Assen when Spies stole the win from Haga at the last possible moment. He will soon join the ranks of the worlds most elite when he takes on MotoGP with Tech 3 Yamaha. I personally look forward to the team of Texans and what I hope is a great battle for the Championship for Yamaha.

I hate the winter months, a time of wet weather riding, soaked pants and sometimes unpleasant comfort. It is also the time of no racing, with the seasons over and waiting for new ones to start. Theres been some news, but nothing to exciting or new. For those that have been checking in we’re sorry that there hasn’t been any updates, but the new seasons are now about to start and the news will come back. Check back everyday to see if there are updates to the site. Thanks, from the Sportridersblog.com crew.

During his month off of testing in December, Hopkins returned to America, more specifically Las Vegas and the Hard Rock Hotel, and tied the knot with his fiancee Ashleigh. Colin Edwards attended along with a few other MotoGP riders. The happy newly married couple will spend their honeymoon in French Polynesia so Hopkins will be ready for testing to resume for 2008 in Sepang.
